S355J2 is a low-alloy steel. S355J2 adopts European standard EN10025-2 and is prepared by the technical committee of ECISS/TC10 "Grade and Quality of Structural Steel".
S355J2 steel is roughly equivalent to GB's Q345D.
J2 means that the delivery state is normalized, and the impact energy at -20°C is 27J.
Chemical composition of S355J2 steel:
Carbon C: ≤0.22; Silicon Si: ≤0.55; Manganese Mn: ≤1.60; Phosphorus P: ≤0.025; Sulfur S: ≤0.025; Cu: ≤0.55;
Yield strength (Mpa): ≤16mm: ≥355; 16-40: ≥345; 40-63: ≥335; 63-80: ≥325; 80-100: ≥315; 100-150: 295; 150-200: ≥285; 200—250: ≥275; 250—400: ≥265.
Tensile strength (Mpa): 450-680.
Impact energy -20℃: ≥27.
Application of S355J2 steel: S355J2 steel has good comprehensive mechanical properties, low temperature impact toughness, cold stamping, machinability, and is widely used in welded structures subjected to dynamic loads, such as bridges, vehicles, ships, pipelines, boilers, large containers, oil tanks, Heavy machinery equipment, mining machinery and -40℃ low temperature pressure vessel.
