SM490 is rolled steel for welded structure. S represents steel and M represents welding. 400 is also the lower limit tensile strength of 400MPa and impact at 0℃. SM490 is divided into three levels: SM490A, SM490B and SM490C. B is the grade of SM490 steel plate and impact at 20℃. C is the grade of steel plate. SM490 is a welded structural steel, which is suitable for structural parts requiring excellent welding performance such as buildings, bridges, ships, vehicles and construction machinery.
