SN490B in the Japanese standard is low-alloy high-strength structural steel, rolled steel for building structures. Features: low price, excellent process performance (such as weldability and cold formability). SN490B executive standard: JIS G3136.

Si≤0.55, Mn≤1.65, P≤0.030, S≤0.015.
1) Other alloying elements can be added as needed.
2) Carbon equivalent Ceq=C+Mn/6+ Si/24+Ni/40+Cr/5+Mo/4+V/14.
Ceq thickness≤40mm:≤0.44
Ceq thickness> 40mm-100mm: ≤0.46
Welding crack sensitivity Pcm=C+Mn/20+Si/30+Cu/20+Ni/60+Cr/20+Mo/15+V/10.
Pcm:≤0.29
The carbon equivalent can be replaced by welding crack sensitivity upon agreement between the supplier and buyer.
