Selection of ASTM A36 steel sheet

Hot rolling ASTM A36 steel sheet products include strip (coil) and A36 steel sheet cut from it. The steel strip (coil) can be divided into straight coil and finishing coil (decoil, flat coil and slitting coil).

Because the straight coil has not been rewound, the size change part of the head and tail of the ASTM A36 steel strip has not been cut, and has not been straightened and leveled, the straight coil has tongue and fish tail, and it is easy to have defects such as uneven thickness and width of the head and tail, wavy shape of the edge, folded edge, tower shape and wrinkle (waist fold) after unrolling. Therefore, if the surface quality and shape of the ASTM A36 steel sheet are required to be high, it is not suitable to use the hot rolled straight coil, but should choose the flat coil which has been rewound and leveled by the finishing line.
