1. Introduction to A517 Grade B steel plate
A517 Grade B steel plate is a quenched + tempered high-strength alloy steel plate for pressure vessels. The steel plate has high strength and good toughness.
2. Heat treatment and implementation standard of A517 Grade B steel plate
Heat treatment: quenching + tempering;
Executive standard: A517 Grade B steel plate is an American standard steel plate, which implements the ASTM A517/A517M standard.
3. Mechanical properties of A517 Grade B steel plate
Yield strength: ≥690;
Tensile strength: 795-930;
Elongation%: ≥16
4. The chemical composition of A517 Grade B steel plate
C: 0.05-0.21; Si: 0.15-0.35; Mn: 0.70-1.00; Cr: 0.40-0.65; Mo: 0.15-0.25; B: 0.0005-0.0050; Ti: 0.01-0.03; V: 0.03-0.08; P: ≤0.012; S: ≤0.008.
5. The production process of A517 Grade B steel plate
A517 Grade B steel should be killed steel, and should meet the requirements of ASTM A20/A20M standard fine austenite grain size. When the steel plate is heat-treated, the steel plate is heated to a temperature not lower than 900℃, quenched in water or oil, and then tempered at a temperature not lower than 620℃, and the holding time is at least 1/2h.
