According to foreign media reports, in the first half of Iran's fiscal year (March 20 to September 21), steel production exceeded 7.265 million tons, an increase of 3% year-on-year. Among them, Iran's steel production exceeded 1.251 million tons in September, an increase of 9% year-on-year.
In order to prevent raw ore export and meet Iran's domestic requirements for raw materials, Iran has imposed a 25% tariff on the export of some raw ores (especially) since late September. The Ministry of Industry believes that the tariff will encourage the development of the steel industry.
Iran has defined 16 development projects in the steel industry to increase the output of steel products by 17.3 million tons in five years.
