Does Cu and Cr Affect Corrosion Resistance of Corten A weatherproof steel in Marine Atmospheric Envi

Corten A weatherproof steel has been widely used because of its lower cost than stainless steel and better atmospheric corrosion resistance than ordinary carbon steel. But in the marine atmospheric environment, the common Corten A weatherproof steel can not improve the corrosion resistance of the marine atmospheric because it is difficult to form a dense inner rust layer on its surface.

It is generally believed that the addition of trace alloying elements such as Cu, Cr and Ni can improve the atmospheric corrosion resistance of steel. At present, the effect of alloying elements on the corrosion resistance of Corten A weatherproof steel in Coastal Atmospheric environment, especially the specific effect of the amount of alloying elements on the corrosion resistance of Corten A weatherproof steel, has not been discussed in detail.
