Composition of NM400 Steel Plate

NM400 steel plate is composed of low carbon steel plate and alloy wear-resistant layer. The wear-resistant layer of alloy is generally 1/3~1/2 of the total NM400 steel plate thickness. The carbon steel matrix provides the strength, toughness and plasticity of resisting external forces, and the alloy wear-resistant layer provides the wear-resistant performance to meet the requirements of specified working conditions.

The metallurgical bond between the alloy wear-resistant layer and the base plate of the NM400 steel plate. Through special equipment and automatic welding technology, the high hardness self-shielding alloy welding wire is welded evenly on the base plate. The number of composite layers is from one layer to two layers or even multi-layers. In the process of composite, due to the different shrinkage ratio of alloy, uniform transverse cracks appear, which is the remarkable feature of NM400 steel plate.
