JIS G3101 grade SS400 steel is structural hot rolled steel in the form of plates, sheets & strips for general structural applications. JIS G3101 grade SS400 steel sheet is more reliable in its tensile strength than SS330 steel plate. The applicable thickness for JIS G3101 grade SS400 steel sheet starts from 1.2 mm to 120 mm.

JIS G3101 grade SS400 steel sheet is one of the most commonly used hot rolled general structural steel. The Carbon and Manganese are not identified for JIS G3101 grade SS400 steel sheet. Its maximum percentage of Phosphorous and Sulphur is 0.050 percent respectively. Remaining is iron (Fe) percentage and with few negligible impurities.
