Chemical composition of 06Ni9DR LNG storage tank steel

06Ni9DR (9%Ni) steel plate is a special low temperature pressure vessel steel for LNG storage tank. The impact energy of 06Ni9DR steel below zero is up to - 196℃. 06Ni9DR LNG storage tank steel has excellent low temperature impact performance and low thermal deformation coefficient.

Chemical composition of 06Ni9DR LNG storage tank steel:
C ≤ 0.1, Mn 0.30-0.80, Si≤0.35, P ≤0.010, S ≤0.004, Ni 8.5-10, Mo≤0.10, V≤0.01, Alt≥0.020.
In order to improve the properties of 06Ni9DR steel, other microalloying elements can be added,
Cr + Cu + Mo in steel should not exceed 0.50%

The influence of each alloying element on 06Ni9DR steel is as follows:
C - carbide precipitation will cause pitting corrosion, which is generally controlled within 0.08%;
Mn - austenite phase stabilizes the element, improves the wear resistance and nitrogen solid capacity;
Si is conducive to high temperature oxidation resistance and acid corrosion resistance;
Ni - stabilizing element, reducing brittleness, improving mechanical properties and enhancing acid resistance.

06Ni9DR LNG storage tank steel is widely used in LNG ship, LNG storage and transportation engineering and other complex projects.
