Characteristics and application of alloy structural steel

On the basis of high quality carbon structural steel, one or several alloying elements are added to improve the strength, toughness and hardenability of the alloy structural steel. This kind of steel usually needs quenching and tempering, chemical heat treatment (carburizing, nitriding, etc.), surface quenching and other heat treatment after being made. Compared with high-quality carbon structural steel, alloy structural steel has good comprehensive mechanical properties. It is often rolled (forged) into round, square and flat shapes and used as important structural parts in machinery or machines. The basic standard is GB / T3077.

According to the different chemical composition, heat treatment process and application of steel, alloy structural steel can be divided into quenched and tempered steel, carburized steel and nitrided steel, heat-resistant structural steel and non quenched and tempered steel.
