Corrosion resistance of 316L stainless steel:
The corrosion resistance of 316L stainless steel is better than that of 304 stainless steel. 316L stainless steel has good corrosion resistance in pulp and paper production. Moreover, 316L stainless steel is also resistant to the erosion of marine and corrosive industrial atmospheres.
Heat resistance of 316L stainless steel:
316L stainless steel has excellent oxidation resistance in intermittent use below 1600 degrees and continuous use below 1700 degrees. In the range of 800-1575 degrees, it is better not to continuously use 316L stainless steel, but the continuous use of 316L stainless steel is OK outside the temperature range. 316L stainless steel has good heat resistance.
Welding performance of 316L stainless steel:
316L stainless steel has good welding properties. All standard welding methods can be used for welding of of 316L steel. According to the use, 316Cb, 316L or 309Cb stainless steel filler rod or electrode can be used for welding of 316L stainless steel. In order to get the best corrosion resistance, the welding section of 316 stainless steel must be annealed after welding. If 316L stainless steel is used, no post weld annealing treatment is needed.
