ASTM A283C carbon steel plate covered by this specification may be welded by conventional methods. Heat treatment consists of normalizing at 1650F and slow furnace cool. Hot working of ASTM A283C carbon steel plate may be done at 1650_1700F or lower temperatures. Tempering is not applicable in ASTM A283C carbon steel plate.
