70mm ultra thick Q960E high strength steel plates challenge specification limit

BBN steel just finished a batch of ultra thick Q960E high strength steel plates production, among which the max. thickness reaches 70mm. The ultra thick Q960E high strength steel plates are supplied to a heavy machinery manufacturing enterprise, and are mainly used for manufacturing equipment core load-bearing parts.

After inspection, the thickness uniformity and tear resistance of the Q960E high strength steel plates are excellent, reaching the domestic advanced level.

BBN steel provide more than 500 tons of ultra-high strength steel Q960E and Q690E steel plates, including 70mm, 50mm, 40mm and other thickness specifications. Q960E steel equivalent EN grade is S960QL, and Q690E steel equivalent material is S690QL. The 70mm ultra thick Q960E high strength steel plates are produced for the first time, and there is no such specification in the standard. The 70mm ultra thick Q960E high strength steel plates were developed by the agreement between BBN steel and the customer. The production was very challenging.
