World steel production from January to September 2020

Recently, the World Steel Association released the estimated global crude steel production in September.

According to the report of 64 countries, the world crude steel output in September this year was 156.4 million tons, a year-on-year increase of 2.9%, which is the highest trading volume in nine months.

In the first nine months of 2020, the world's steel production will be 1347.4 billion tons, a year-on-year decrease of 3.2%.

Despite the decline in March, global steel production in the first quarter of this year was 439 million tons, almost the same as last year.

Steel production fell sharply in the second quarter, with global production of 434 million tons, down 9.2% from the same period last year.

In the third quarter, there was an unexpected positive improvement in steel production. From July to September, global steel production was 465 million tons, an increase of 7.2% over the second quarter and 0.2% over the same period last year.
