ASTM AH36 is high strength steel specially for shipbuilding and oil platform use. ASTM AH36 steel has high strength, good toughness, corrosion resistance, weldability, processing formability, and surface quality.
ASTM AH36 steel mechanical property:

A572 Gr.50 | 345 | 450 | 18 | - | - |
S355JR | 355 | 470-630 | 22 | 20 | 27 |

Please note those materials are only close to ASTM AH36 steel in strength. In strict sense, they should not be regarded as absolute ASTM AH36 equivalent materials. Especially for marine use, the ASTM AH36 equivalent material is not recommended to use. ASTM AH36, the special shipbuilding steel would perform much better in such seawater corrosion environment.
