S355J2 Non-alloy Steel Hot Rolled Plates

S355J2 Non-alloy Steel Hot Rolled Plates

S355J2 material is a non-alloy European standard (EN 10025-2) structural steel. Its material number is 1.0577. It’s equivalent to JIS G3106 SM490, JIS 3101 SS490, ASTM A572-50, DIN 17100 ST52-3 and ABS Grade EH36. S355J2 non-alloy steel plate is often delivered in hot rolled or normalized condition.
The yield strength of S355J2 steel is 355MPa(min). It is weldable. For low carbon content, it processes good cold-forming properties. This carbon steel plate is produced by fully killed.
The difference between Grades S355J2 and S355K2 is that the standard (EN10025) requires the plates to be tested at -20 and -40 respectively. What we do is to test the J2 plates at -40 (the same as the tougher K2 standard).
S355J2 non-alloy structural steel is not ideally suited for hardening, though it can be subjected to limited heat treatment process such as case hardening. If hardening S355J2, including rate of heating ,cooling and soaking times will vary due to factors such as the shape and size of each component.
S355J2 hot rolled structural steel plate is mainly used in engineering and construction industries. We will offer relative machining service and tests like cutting, grinding, welding, forming and forging to meet your projects’ demands. If specified at the time of order, ultrasonic testing is carried out.
