Application and heat treatment of ASTM A514 Gr. E alloy steel plate

ASTM A514 Gr. E alloy steel plate is high strength, quenching and tempering alloy steel plate, suitable for welding.

The ASTM A514 Gr. E alloy steel plate is used for a wide range of frame and structural components, as well as high wear and tear parts with high strength, impact resistance and wear resistance. For example, building and bridge frame and structural components, truck frame and body, transport vehicle frame and body, storage tank and container support frame.

The maximum thickness of ASTM A514 Gr. E alloy steel plate is 150mm. A514 Gr. E steel plate shall be heat-treated. The A514 Gr. E steel plate is heated not less than 900 degrees, quenched in water or oil, and the tempering is not less than 620 degrees, so as to conform to the requirements of tensile and hardness.
