The max. thickness of ASTM A633 Grade E/A633 Gr.E HSLA structural steel plates is up to 6" in thickness. A633 Gr.E steel shall have fine austenitic grain size and shall be normalized by heat treatment. The chemical composition of A633 Gr.E steel shall be determined by heat analysis, and its tension tests shall also be done. If A633 Gr.E steel plates is thicker than 75mm, the steel need double normalizing. If A633 Gr.E steel plates is wider than 610mm, the elongation requirement is reduced two percentage points when rolling.
