DIN17100 St 37-2 Structural Steel plate

St 37-2 is an unalloyed structural steel. St 37-2 is mainly being used for general mechanical engineering. St 37-2 tensile strength is between 340 and 470 N/mm².

High strength low alloys have replaced many structural steels where weight reduction is important (e.g. automotive) but with guaranteed strengths.

ST37-2 is a kind of low carbon steel with carbon content of 0.20%, similar to S235JR or Q235. ST37-2 is not as strong as common ASTM A36, but ST37-2 is also widely applied by everyday uses and structural applications where high strength is not so important.
