What advantages does 42CrMo structural steel have

42CrMo structural steel belongs to ultra-high strength steel with high strength and toughness, good hardenability, no obvious tempering brittleness, high fatigue limit and multiple impact resistance after quenching and tempering, and good low-temperature impact toughness.

42CrMo structural steel equivalent steel grades are 42CrMo4 steel in European standard, AISI 4140 steel in American standard, SCM440 steel in Japanese standard, etc.

42CrMo structural steel is used to manufacture forgings with higher strength and larger quenching and tempering section than 35CrMo steel, such as large gear for locomotive traction, booster drive gear, pressure vessel gear, rear axle, connecting rod and spring clamp with great load, drill pipe joint and fishing tool for oil deep well below 2000m, and die for bending machine, etc.
