Mexico launches anti dumping investigation on carbon steel plates

On September 10, 2020, the Ministry of Economic Affairs of Mexico announced that the third sunset review investigation on anti-dumping of carbon steel plates originating in Romania, Russia and Ukraine was launched. The dumping investigation period of this case is from July 1, 2019 to June 30, 2020, and the injury investigation period is from July 1, 2015 to June 30, 2020. The tigie tax numbers of the carbon steel plates products involved were 7208.51.01, 7208.51.02, 7208.51.03, 7208.52.01, 7225.40.01 and 7225.40.02. During the period of investigation, the current anti-dumping measures for the products involved in the case continued to be effective.

On August 12, 2003, Mexico initiated an anti-dumping investigation on carbon steel plates originating in Romania, Russia and Ukraine. On September 21, 2005, Mexico made an affirmative final determination on the anti-dumping of carbon steel plates from the three countries, and imposed 67.6%, 36.8% and 60.1% anti-dumping duties on the products involved in the case of Romania, Russia and Ukraine, respectively. On March 12, 2012, Mexico for the first time extended the validity of anti-dumping duty on the carbon steel plates products involved in the case for five years. On September 7, 2016, Mexico extended the validity of anti-dumping duty on the products involved for the second time for five years. On January 8, 2014, Mexico made a final determination on anti circumvention of the carbon steel plates products involved in the case of Russia and Ukraine. The tigie tax numbers of the carbon steel plates products involved were 7225.40.01 and 7225.40.02.
